Another Boy in Blue Goes Bad

Fayetteville Police were dispatched to The Cliffs apartments, 78 Aqua Crossing, at 7: 30 a. m. on Wednesday responding to a reported burglary in progress. The suspect, described as a white man wearing swimming trunks and no shirt, was later identified as Fayetteville Police Officer Jared Cypert, 26, of Fayetteville. He was issued an arrest summons for public intoxication but was not booked into the Washington County Detention Center, and he was placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

Officer Cypert has been a member of the force since 2006. He completed a 12-week course at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy and holds a B.A. in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas. Thus far, he is unrated on RateMyCop.com, so you can be the first.

As Kate Ward reported, "According to a 911 dispatch report, the victim reported entering his apartment Wednesday morning and discovering an intoxicated man inside his residence. The victim stated that the suspect, whom he had never seen before, attacked him, prompting him to flee his own residence. The victim locked himself inside a neighbor’s apartment and called 911." At least Cypert wasn't looking at child pornography like the last member of our City's police force in the crime news.

My only question is how a young cop can get that drunk at 7:30 in the morning? Well, and how such a character passed those rigorous psychological tests we are told our police officers must take before being hired and issued weapons.
