Former Fayetteville Police Detective Jeremy Boyd Grammer has been indicted by a federal grand jury for distributing and receiving child pornography. He has been on the force since 1998 but was fired after an internal investigation in April for conduct unbecoming of an officer and not maintaining integrity in his personal life. Unlike Senator Larry Craig (R-Idaho), he pleaded not guilty. If convicted, Grammer faces five to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000 on each charge.
Maybe Grammer will say he was just practicing to play a 13-year old girl on the internet to entrap pedophiles? Cops do that, a lot it seems. Whatever, had he not been busted, Detective Grammer would be one of those fine officers with unbridled authority to arrest people under the proposed noise ordinance, with no evidence other than their whim, because we are told we should trust the local cops not to abuse their discretion. Self-abuse, however, is apparently another matter.
