The Past as Prologue

"I can tell you that if I don't win this election, the progress we've made in Fayetteville -- the sustainability coordinator, biofuels, LEED certified government buildings, the all, I mean, a long list of environmental issues, green issues, will come to a halt. I know this. I'm not just threatening this, I know this." -- Mayor Dan Coody, November 10, 2008.

  2. Thanks for posting that video. I had almost forgotten what a self-centered phony Dan was a mayor. I remember him babbling on during the campaign about all the awards that HE received.

  3. I guess he was just threatening after all.

And then he warned us: "You can always look at the past to tell what the future looks like."

  4. And on the other hand... he was kind of right, in that self-centered way.

  6. Good setting for a Dan fest though, in a coffee house. I'd sure need a few espresso shots to stay awake. Then when his anxiety became too annoying, switch to booze. Deb should get him liquored up beforehand...it'd probably improve his delivery.

  7. I am really glad that Fayetteville has moved on. It is time for Dan and Deb to do so too.

  8. Jonah, do you still have another clip from that gathering showing Petty's weird parroting of Dan's line of BS?

Petty needs to see that again every few months in case he is actually doing some soul-searching and evaluating his progress toward getting an idea about city government and MAYBE beginning to understand people who don't twitter.

  9. If you don't want to watch the entire video, the quote referenced above begins at around 7:08 minutes.

  10. Gawd, what a whiney baby. No wonder he lost the election.
